Not Your Typical Web Guy
Solo developer, Linux enthusiast, and El Paso local who builds websites that actually work for small businesses.
"Jack of all trades, master of none,
but oftentimes better than
a master of one"
As a solo developer, I wear every hat: designer, developer, DevOps engineer, project manager, and client liaison. This isn't a limitation—it's my superpower.
The Story Behind 915website
915 is the area code for El Paso, Texas. It's not just a number - it's home. I'm a solo developer who builds websites for the businesses that make our city run: landscapers, mechanics, nail salons, plumbers, and all the hardworking folks who keep El Paso moving.
I've been coding for over 10 years, starting with PHP and building my own LAMP stacks on Digital Ocean. But my real education started 20 years ago when I installed my first Linux distribution. From Debian to Pop!_OS, from Fedora to every flavor of Ubuntu, I've tried them all. These days, I run Arch Linux with Hyprland on my trusty ThinkPad T480.
The Underdog Philosophy
I've always rooted for the underdog. When everyone was using WordPress, I chose ExpressionEngine and ProcessWire. When React took over (backed by Facebook) and Angular emerged (Google's baby), I went with Vue.js - created by one guy, Evan You, who just wanted to build something better.
Today, I use Vue/Nuxt 3 for most projects. It's powerful, fast, and built by a community that cares about developers like us - not shareholders. For simpler sites, I reach for Astro - another indie darling that ships zero JavaScript by default.
The Power Tools Advantage
Let's talk about something your other web developers won't: Yes, I use AI. Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini - they're all in my toolkit. But here's the thing:
I've been coding for 10+ years. I know when the AI is suggesting outdated patterns, when it's about to create a security nightmare, or when it's completely hallucinating. The difference between me and someone who just discovered ChatGPT? I'm the master craftsman with power tools, not a kid with a YouTube tutorial.
The Right Tool for Every Job
You know the saying: "If the only tool you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail." Most web developers use hammers - they know WordPress, or Wix, or one framework, and they'll force your project to fit their limited toolbox.
Your local restaurant doesn't need the same solution as an e-commerce store. A plumber's website has different requirements than a law firm's. When you hire me, you're not getting a one-size-fits-all template - you're getting a custom solution built with the exact right tools for YOUR specific needs.
